Nani refutes Naidu's charge on Gudivada's growth
VIJAYAWADA: Former minister and YSR Congress senior MLA Kodali Venkateswara Rao “Nani” on Friday refuted Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu’s charge about development in Gudivada.
Speaking to media here, Nani claimed that development in Gudivada is going on like never before. “Further, we are giving houses to 23,000 people in the town. I am ready for a debate with Chandrababu on development of Gudivada. In fact, it is Naidu, who never tried to develop Gudivada or NTR’s birthplace Nimmakuru despite being the chief minister of AP for 14 years. I will quit politics if Naidu proves he has carried out any developmental activity in Gudivada,” the former minister retorted.
He sought to point out that the TD chief had to sleep in his caravan bus during his visit to Nimmakuru, as no one came forward to offer accommodation to Naidu.
Nani maintained that late Harikrishna had developed Nimmakuru when he had been an MP. Further, Junior NTR put up a statue of NTR in Nimmakuru. “A person like Naidu coming to Nimmakuru and celebrating NTR’s centenary will disturb the soul of NTR,” the YSRC leader maintained.
The MLA stated that people of AP are unwilling to trust Chandrababu Naidu. He declared that results of 2019 assembly polls will be repeated in 2024.
