High command's decision on CM's post is final: Jana Reddy

He demanded that names of leaders who have been accused of corruption in the Indiramma Housing scheme be made public.

Leader of the Opposition in TS Assembly K. Jana Reddy on Thursday demanded the Prime Minister bring an amendment to Constitution as well as the Anti-Defection Act to ensure automatic disqualification of legislators who defect.

Hyderabad: Reacting to claims to Chief Ministership being made by Congress leaders in the state, Telangana Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K. Jana Reddy said that the decision is in the hands of the party’s central leadership 

Recently, several Congress leaders, including Jana Reddy himself, have been openly announcing that they are in the race for the Chief Minister’s post if the party comes to power in 2019. 

Speaking to the media on Sunday, Mr Reddy said that in selecting leaders for any post, the decision will be made by the Congress central leadership alone. 

Regarding alliances with other political parties, Mr  Reddy said a decision will be made at the time of the elections and the announcement will be made  by TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy.  

“We have implemented a lot of good schemes, (more) than the TRS,” Mr Jana Reddy said. 

Ten years ago, the Rajiv Arogyasri scheme was im-plemented by the Congress and became a model for the country. He said the Rythu Bandhu scheme should be extended to tenant farmers also. He demanded that names of leaders who have been accused of corruption in the Indiramma Housing scheme be made public.

Raghu is elected new TJAC Chairman

Telangana Electricity Employees Joint Action Committee chairman K. Raghu was elected TJAC chairman on Sunday.

The TUJAC executive committee met on Sun-day and accepted the resignation of Prof. Kodan-daram as TJAC chairman, as he had floated a political party, the Telan-gana Jana Samithi.

Speaking at the meeting, Prof. Kodandaram said the role of TJAC in achieving separate Telangana state was unforgettable. He said that it was through the TJAC that they had become known among the people. 

He said there was no organisation like the TJAC in the country which through a public movement had fought against autocratic rule.

Prof. Kodandaram said he had floated the Telangana Jana Samithi to bring a change in the administration. 

He said the TJAC was trying to build strong democratic Telangana state. The meeting also elected a new committee.
