TIRUPATI: Telugu Desam national president and former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held YSR Congress-led state government responsible for suicide by Sarpavaram sub-inspector Gopalakrishna (36), who shot himself with his service pistol.

Addressing several public gatherings on the final day of his “Badude Badudu” tour of Kuppam on Friday, the TDP chief said DGP must be ashamed that an SI has shot himself dead in East Godavari district. He alleged that sub-inspector Gopalakrishna ended his life “because of unbearable humiliation”.

Continuing his tirade against Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government, Naidu said like in Sri Lanka, people of Andhra Pradesh are being subject to unprecedented oppression.

“Sri Lankan rulers have resorted to physical suppression of people following total collapse of their country's economy. In AP also, endless attacks are being perpetrated on citizens by undermining all institutions and systems,” the former CM maintained.

He observed that the state’s debt has reached ₹ 8 lakh crore. People will have to pay this debt for the next 30–40 years. ““YSRC’s navaratnalu (nine jewels) have turned into nava randhralu (nine holes of YSRC corruption), while Jagan Reddy's badudu palana (unbearable taxes) are breaking the backs of all sections of society,” he stated.

The TD chief wanted the state government to explain what happened to the job calendar it had promised to release every year. He also called on farmers to strongly oppose the government's move to fix meters on agricultural motors.
