Thiruvananthapuram: CPM is gearing up to counter BJP-RSS plan to organise a campaign against the party at the national level in connection with the pot poll violence in Kannur. The party has decided to expose with documentary evidence, the incidents of violence involving BJP-RSS workers.

“There is an attempt to portray the incidents as one sided. It is a systematic attempt to show the CPM in a bad light and accuse the party of resorting to politics of violence,” said CPM district secretary M V Jayarajan. The CPM leader said as many 32 party workers had been injured in various incidents of violence, 18 offices have been vandalised and eight houses damaged in the series of violent incidents triggered by the BJP RSS activist.

“The BJP RSS is frustrated over the massive defeat that they have suffered in the Assembly polls. They had made tall claims before the polls. But after the results came, they are finding it difficult to accept the mandate of the people who have rejected the Sangh Parivar,” he said.

The CPM  submitted 12 petition before National Commission of Women chairperson Lalitha Kumaramangalam during her visit to Kannur district on Monday. “The BJP tried to mislead the chairperson by feeding her one sided stories. We have brought to her notice the other side of the story. We hope she will look into the complaints impartially,” Jayarajan said. The CPM district secretary said ahead of the polls flex boards of  Pinarayi Vijayan were destroyed by BJP cadres. That was to trigger violence in the area.
