BCs will help Congress for government in TS: VHR
WARANGAL: Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao said like in Karnataka, backward classes will prove to be a great strength for Congress in forming its government in Telangana.
Speaking to media persons at the Congress Bhavan in Hanamkonda on Thursday, the former Rajya Sabha member said there is no Reddy symbol in Congress but only the Rahul symbol, which will lead the party to victory in forthcoming assembly elections. He maintained that neither Prime Minister Narendra Modi nor Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has bothered about OBCs. He wondered why KCR has not revealed which community is the largest in Telangana even after conducting a caste census survey in the state.
With regard to Muslims, Hanumantha Rao said KCR had promised that he would allot 12 per cent reservations for Muslim minorities in the state. Instead of fulfilling this promise, he is trying to remove the four per cent reservation that Congress had implemented during its reign, he said.
The senior Congress leader maintained that people had lost faith in KCR right when he changed the name of his party from TRS to BRS. “People now want a change and wish to see Congress in power in Telangana,” he declared.
DCC president Naini Rajendar Reddy, former MP S. Rajaiah, leaders E. Venkatram Reddy, N. Srinivas, E.V. Srinivas Rao, district women’s wing president B. Sarala, B. Vikram, Mirza Azeezullah Baig, G. Swapna, P. Satish and A. Karthik were among those present.
