TRS pushed Telangana into debt trap: Bhatti
Hyderabad: Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday lashed out at the TRS government for pushing Telangana state into a debt trap in eight years due to financial indiscipline. He targeted the TRS and the BJP in the House for failing to fulfil assurances made to TS in AP Reorganisation Act.
Two short discussions were held in Legislative Assembly on Tuesday on ‘Central government dual policy in implementation of FRBM ActImpact on State's progress’ and ‘Failure of Central government in implementing the assurances under AP Reorganisation Act in Telangana state”.
Participating in these debates, Bhatti said that FRMB Act was brought in the country to regulate states from resorting to indiscriminate borrowings but TRS government exceeded FRBM limits and secured loans. Bhatti charged the TRS government of hiding details of loans in the state Budgets presented in the Assembly. “The TRS secured nearly `5 lakh crore loans in eight years and pushed revenue-surplus TS into debt trap,” Bhatti said.
