With elections to the state assembly looming, former  MP , A. H Vishwanath and former minister, V Srinivasprasad, who both left the Congress in a huff and joined the JDS and BJP respectively, have decided  to join forces to take on  Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, in his home turf of Mysuru.

Mr Vishwanath , who will contest the poll from Hunsur and Mr G T Devegowda of the  JDS, who plans to enter the fray from Chamundeswari constituency, met Mr Srinivasprasad at his home on Friday.  Explaining the objective of the meeting, Mr Vishwanath declared, "There has to be political cleansing  in Mysuru region and we plan to create awareness among people to achieve this."   Speaking to reporters here he likened Mr Siddaramaiah to Duryodhana in the Mahabharata, saying,  "His policy is all about "I" and  arrogance. He thinks he is all powerful. So we want to make him realise we too have a  presence here."
