Speaking to the media on Saturday Mr Nayani said he was in touch with CM over the phone.
Hyderabad: Home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy denied the allegations of Congress MLA A. Revanth Reddy that he was not given an appointment by caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. Speaking to the media on Saturday Mr Nayani said he was in touch with CM over the phone.
Clarifying his earlier statement, Mr Nayani said that by mistake he had said Rs 10 crore instead of Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh offered by Mr Rao in the previous elections. He said that the defeat of Mr Revanth Reddy in Kodangal was certain in the upcoming assembly elections. He said he was expecting the Musheerabad Assembly constituency ticket for his son-in-law Mr Srinivasa Reddy.
Mr Nayani said Mr Rao had refused to give Musheerabad ticket to him in the 2014 Assembly elections and had offered LB Nagar ticket which he refused. He said, “As I had refused to take LB Nagar ticket, Mr Rao had promised to make me an MLC and take me into the Cabinet. If Musheerabad ticket is denied to my son-in-law, Mr Rao must have some alternative in his mind.” He denied all speculations of him joining the Congress and said that all his political life, he has been anti-Congress.
Meanwhile, Panchayat Raj minister Jupally Krishna Rao alleged that Congress leaders in their three-day campaign in Mahabubnagar district had said all lies.
He asked if it was the Congress which granted Telangana statehood, why was it defeated in 2014 Assembly elections. Jupally said that he has given political life to Ms D.K. Aruna in the district. He said Ms Aruna continued in the N. Kiran Kumar Reddy Cabinet that opposed Telangana state.
