BS Yediyurappa gets into action, holds strategy meet with rebels
Chief Minister ensured that neither aides nor supporters of these legislators could gain entry into the room where the meeting was held.
Bengaluru: In an effort to gain a head start over rival parties, Chief Minister B.S Yediyurappa and state BJP president Nalin Kumar Kateel on Wednesday held a meeting with all 17 legislators, who were disqualified by previous Speaker K R Ramesh Kumar, to discuss strategies for the bypolls scheduled for December 5.
Sources in the state unit of BJP said the Chief Minister reportedly assured all disqualified legislators that the party would field them from respective constituencies.
They were cautioned by Mr Yediyurappa not to disclose any details about the closed-door meeting held at his residence to their relatives or supporters. In the wake of the controversy over a leaked clip of him about party president Amit Shah being aware of developments prior to collapse of the previous JD (S)-Congress coalition, the Chief Minister ensured that neither aides nor supporters of these legislators could gain entry into the room where the meeting was held.
Deputy chief minister Govinda Karjol, senior minister K. S .Eshwarappa, Mr Yediyurappa’s son Mr B Y. Vijayendra also attended the meeting held this evening.
