Hyderabad: AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh, incharge of Telangana state affairs, summoned party leaders for a meeting on Wednesday in Delhi to take stock of the political situation including taking an aggressive stand against the TRS government in the Legislature session from December 16.

TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Leaders of Opposi-tion in the Assembly and Council K. Jana Reddy and Shabbir Ali, were invited.

Sources said Mr Singh would tell them that the state Congress needed to be more aggressive against the TRS government’s “anti-poor policies”. He would tell them to make use of the Winter Session to take on the government.

Mr Singh called Khammam and Kothagudem leaders including senior MP Renuka Chowdary and MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, who are at loggerheads.

The Khammam review meeting will be held before the state Congress leaders meet, sources said. Due to the differences between the district leaders, the state party unit was unable to appoint party committees in these two districts.
