Amarnath Fires Back: Accuses Nadendla Manohar of Spreading Lies
State Industries Minister criticizes Jana Sena leader's statements, calls him a 'political broker' during a fiery press conference
Visakhapatnam: State industries minister Gudivada Amarnath on Wednesday reacted sharply to Jana Sena leader Nadendla Manohar’s statements at a press conference earlier during the day.
Amarnath accused Manohar of weaving lies and trying to make people a fool. He said he expected the JS leader to mention facts, as he had earlier served as speaker of united AP.
“After seeing his press conference, one can call him a political broker,” the minister remarked addressing a press conference at the Visakhapatnam circuit house.
He reiterated that there is large-scale development in the north Andhra region. Yet, Telugu Desam and Jana Sena on one hand and yellow media on the other are spreading lies, he stated.
On the issue of Apparel Park in Hindupur, Amarnath explained that in 2005–06, when late YSR was the chief minister, 350 acres had been earmarked for the project in Hindupur, the most backward area of Rayalaseema. APIIC also approved the place as SEZ and provided many facilities.
The progress on apparel park came to a halt in 2009 with the sudden death of YSR. In 2011, the then Congress government cancelled the agreement. The government subsequently tried to take back the land, as the apparel park had not been started.
The company executing the apparel park then went to court. “These are the facts. But the JS leader is trying to spread lies,” the minister charged.
