GHMC officials to be shuffled
According to sources, as many as 300 officials would be reshuffled.
Hyderabad: The GHMC elections having completed, the state government has turned its attention on streamlining the administration of the corporation. As part of this, officials, right from senior assistants to additional deputy commissioners, will be reshuffled.
Well placed sources in the GHMC told DC that mayor Bonthu Rammohan Rao, deputy mayor Baba Fasiuddin and officials from GHMC’s administration wing will meet on Monday evening to discuss the transfers. “Most likely, those who have been attached to a particular section since long will be transferred. The government has already gathered information regarding corrupt staff and they will be given non-priority wings,” the source said.
Meanwhile, the GHMC will concentrate on promotions of officials from junior assistants to senior, senior to superintendents, superintendents to Assistant Municipal Commissioner (AMC), and AMC to additional deputy commissioners. According to sources, as many as 300 officials would be reshuffled.
“After the meeting with the mayor and deputy mayor, the GHMC will start the promotions and transfers’ process from February 18,” the sources said.
“The government has already identified the corrupt staff. Mostly, on the outskirts of the city, several staff like senior assistants, AMCs, ADCs and town-planning section officials are seen as corrupt. Besides this, the government will consider complaints by citizens lodged with grievance cells at various levels,” the sources said.
