Amaravati: Barely three months ahead of his retirement, a Congress member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council, who was suspended from the party, on Wednesday crossed over to the ruling Telugu Desam Party.
TDP President and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu admitted B Changal Rayudu from Kadapa district into the party in Amaravati on Wednesday afternoon.
Incidentally, the Congress last week suspended Changal Rayudu from the party for indulging in anti-party activities.
Rayudu was elected to the Council under the MLAs' quota in 2011 and was due to retire in May.
He was admitted into the TDP as part of a strategy to consolidate its base among a caste in Kadapa district.
