Kottayam: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has ruled out the possibility of the BJP opening an account in the state Assembly. “The mind of Kerala does not appreciate the communal attitude of BJP,” he said. “They were not able to open an account even when they jointly contested with the CPM in 1977. The people will give a fitting reply to Mr Narendra Modi's statement comparing Kerala with Somalia. It is an insult to the Malayalis the world over,” he maintained.
“The election result will be a verdict against the politics of violence of the CPM,” he said and condemned the attack against RMP candidate K.K. Rema at Vadakara, He refused to comment on the number of seats the UDF will win. “We are confident of getting more seats than last time,” he said.
Challenges credibility of Saritha’s evidence
On Saritha allegations, the chief minister challenged the credibility of the pieces of evidence handed over to the solar commission by Saritha S. Nair and said if they were credible, they would have been submitted much earlier. “The motive of submitting the evidence, including videos, to Justice B. Sivarajan commission by Saritha on the eve of elections is clear,” he told reporters here.
