Rs 22.99 crore seized in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: The campaign for the 2016 Assembly elections in Kerala witnessed a sizable inflow of black money into the state.

The total black money seized during this time has been revealed to be Rs 22.99 crore with the election squad confiscating Rs 2.66 crore on Friday itself.  

Apart from that about 9,905 litre liquor and 22,200 litre spurious liquor brought allegedly to influence voters were also seized. Various enforcement agencies also seized over two kilograms of gold during election related raids.

Revenue, excise, police and income tax department officials conducted separate and joint inspections in different parts of the state to curb illegal activities to influence voters.
