Congress demands CBI probe into re-sinking of open cast mines
The tender had been floated by Singareni Colleries.
Hyderabad: The Congress has demanded a CBI inquiry into tenders called for re-sinking of open cast excavations worth Rs 204 crore. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee treasurer Guduru Narayana Reddy alleged this work was handed over to A Home Consultants, who do not have an office and hold experience in such work.
Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan on Monday, he said denying the lowest bidder, the work had been handed over to A Home Consultants. The tender had been floated by Singareni Colleries.
He said that as part of the pilot project a target of 50,000 cubic metre had been set for 10 months, but A Home Consultants had completed only 1,050 cubic metres in that period.
He said that there were allegations of corruption in handing over of works to A Home Consultants and expressed the doubt that some important leaders may be involved, and demanded a CBI probe.
