BJP to spread awareness on UCC: Purandeswari
Vijayawada: AP BJP chief D. Purandeswari called upon the party’s legal cell members to make efforts to bring about awareness among all sections of the people on the upcoming bill on Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Parliament.
The BJP legal cell committee headed by the state convenor Pratap Reddy organised a meeting with the state BJP chief in this regard at the
party office here on Saturday.
Purandeswari urged party leaders and workers to strengthen the BJP for the upcoming polls and felt the need to reach out to the people to bring about more awareness of UCC so that they accept it and even leaders of other parties change their minds and support it.
She said that UCC was a part of BJP’s agenda and the party has taken up an awareness campaign on it at the national level.
Pratap Reddy assured her that all members of the legal cell will work across the state to spread awareness on UCC.
Meanwhile, Purandeswari also asked party’s state social media wing headed by its convenor Keshav Kanth to publicise all development works and welfare schemes taken up by the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last nine years.
