Hyderabad: BRS MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy and BRS MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy were engaged in a war of words once again on Saturday on the issue of getting a party ticket to contest from the Tandur constituency in forthcoming Assembly elections.

Despite the BRS leadership directing them not to engage in public spats, the two leaders ignored the warning and lashed out at each other before the media.
It all started with Rohith Reddy, dubbing Mahender Reddy as an “outdated leader”.

Rohith Reddy was interacting with media personnel at BRSLP office here on Saturday. When media personnel asked him about Mahender Reddy's claims of party leadership assuring him Tandur ticket, Rohith Reddy replied, "He is an outdated leader. There is no chance of the party leadership giving him a ticket. I will be the BRS candidate from Tandur again."

Soon after, Mahender Reddy spoke to the the media and hit back at Rohith Reddy. He said, "It's Rohith who became outdated after he defected from the Congress to the BRS. His victory from Congress against me in 2018 Assembly polls was a fluke. He himself admitted that he won because of the support extended by then Congress Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy."

Mahender Reddy claimed that party leadership has assured him ticket to contest from Tandur. "Just wait for three months. Everyone will come to know who is outdated and who will get the Tandur ticket."
