TD launches Maha Sakthi Chaitanya Ratha Yatra
VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Friday launched the Maha Sakthi Chaitanya Ratha Yatra to popularise the Maha Sakthi welfare scheme of the Telugu Desam.
Naidu said: "My intention is to make women a powerful force. Leaders travelling in the Maha Sakthi Chaitanya Ratha Yatra vehicles will make door-to-door visits and organise special programmes as part of the Maha Sakthi welfare scheme campaign.”
Maintaining the welfare of women was possible in the state only during the TD regime, the former CM said the very word “Maha Sakthi” indicates that various schemes under it will bring revolutionary changes in the living standards of women in the state.
Coming down heavily on schemes being implemented in the state, Naidu pointed out that there are several loopholes in the Amma Vodi scheme. “Is it enough if one child in a family is given benefits under the scheme? What about the other child,” he asked.
The TD chief said this is the reason why their party is planning to give ₹15,000 each annually to all children in a family under the Talliki Vandanam scheme.
