Hyderabad: Congress MP Komatireddy Venkata Reddy said that contractors had stopped project works due to non-payment of pending bills. The government has not paid Rs 100 crore to dairy farmers as incentive, he alleged. Mr Reddy asked Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao if it was necessary to construct a new Secretariat building when the state was in a debt trap and unable to clear pending bills.

He pointed out that the Centre had stated that the state’s financial position was very bad.

Elsewhere, Mr Reddy alleged that Mr Rao was constructing the new Secretariat only to make his son K.T. Rama Rao Chief Minister.

He alleged that the government had borrowed Rs 42,000 crore for the Kaleshwaram project and indulged in corruption. He requested the government to clear pending bills of Pillaipalli, Dharmareddy and Bunadigani canal repair works, release Rs 50 crore for land acquisition and Rs 45 crore to clear bills of contractors.

He said the government had not paid Mother Dairy farmers Rs 25 crore and Rs 100 crore as incentives to dairy farmers.

He said that poor people are suffering due to non-release of funds under the Arogyasri scheme.
