Tapping? I did no such thing: HD Kumaraswamy

Bengaluru: Caught in a controversy over alleged  telephone tapping of his political rivals during his tenure as CM of a JD(S)-Congress coalition  government, former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy on Wednesday flatly denied any act of this kind and tweeted that he had no intention of saving his chair as he knew power was not permanent.

The phone tapping scandal which started with the tussle  between two IPS officers- Alok Kumar and Bhaskar Rao, and lobbying for the post of city police chief, took a new turn after former JD(S) state president A.H. Vishwanath claimed phone tapping was a common phenomenon during Kumaraswamy's tenure.

Congress MLA and former home minister Ramalinga Reddy claimed tapping of phones was common in Karnataka.  He told Deccan Chronicle that his phone was tapped when he  resigned from the Assembly recently in protest against some senior leaders being ignored during the Cabinet
expansion.
