TD activists continue their relay fasts
Kakinada: Telugu Desam leaders and cadres in erstwhile East and West Godavari districts continued to observe their relay fasts on Thursday under their “Memu Sytham” campaign in protest against the arrest of TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Among the leaders who led the fasts are former MLA Vanamadi Venkateswara Rao (Kondababu) in Kakinada, MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary in Rajamahendravaram Rural and former MLA Pulavarti Anjaneyulu in Bhimavaram. In other constituencies, their TD in-charges went on fast in their respective constituencies.
Those on fast raised slogans against the ruling YSRC and demanded that the state government release their leader Chandrababu Naidu.
Speaking at the relay fast camp in Kakinada, former minister K.S. Jawahar said ruling YSRC is playing vindictive politics and has booked false cases against Chandrababu Naidu, who is restlessly striving hard for welfare of poor and downtrodden in the state.
He pointed out that during the regime of Telugu Desam, then chief minister provided skill development training to 2 lakh unemployed and also provided them jobs. But now, he has been falsely booked under the skill development scam.
