Hyderabad: Days after the ED raided premises linked to Telangana BC Welfare Minister Gangula Kamalakar as part of a money laundering investigation related to an alleged granite scam, state Goods and Service Tax (GST) investigators conducted searches at Sushee Infra and Mining belonging to family members of Telangana BJP Leader Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy on Monday.

Around 11 a.m. on Monday, at least 20 state GST teams comprised of 150 officials led by state Commercial Taxes commissioner Neetu Prasad raided the office of Sushee Infra and Mining Company belonging to Rajgopal Reddy's son Sankeerth Reddy in Banjara Hills and seized bank statements and obtained details of digital transactions. The officials collected records of business transactions, contract works done at various locations of the Sushee firms, purchase of products under GST, and payment of returns on a monthly basis.

The GST officials also questioned the company’s auditors and summoned them to appear before them. Sushee Infra and Mining, Sushee Arunachal Highways Limited, and Sushee Chandragupta Coal Mine private limited are all housed in the same building in Banjara Hills, and Rajgopal Reddy's son Sankeerth Reddy is managing director (MD) of these firms. The raids follow searches conducted by the central investigating officials in the homes and offices of Gangula Kamalakar, who is accused of evading GST in his granite businesses.
