Hyderabad: Two-time BRS legislator Gongidi Sunitha on Wednesday raised a furore by saying that she would not seek votes from the villagers of Ralla Jangoan in Yadagirigutta mandal.

Scores of villagers registered their protest when she came to campaign in Alair Assembly constituency. As she was about to deliver her speech, the irate villagers started raising an objection.

Sunitha fumed “Will you allow me to speak or not? Give me five minutes and I will tell you what all I have done for you.”

Visibly upset at the hostile reception, she said that she would never seek votes from the village and left in a huff.

Sunitha is the sitting MLA from Alair Assembly constituency in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district. She is also the Government whip. She became an MLA in 2014 by defeating Congress candidate B. Bikshamaiah Goud. She was reelected in 2018.
