Tamil Nadu BJP chief Tamilisai Soundararajan and her Congress counterpart Su Thirunavukarasar were involved in an interesting political spat on Twitter exchanging barbs on the Election Commission allotting Two Leaves symbol to EPS-OPS faction of the AIADMK.

Chennai: Contending that the Dravidian majors deserve to be shown the door in TN politics, BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan took pot shots at T. T. V. Dhinakaran and the opposition DMK saying her party is sincerely campaigning for non corruption in politics and development amidst those “out of jail or on bail.”

Calling upon the voters to make a wise choice and elect the BJP, she said “amidst those who went to jail, those about to go to jail and others out on bail, we are seeking votes (for development and clean administration) by roaming in the heat,” she said on Thursday. In a tweet in Tamil the senior leader apparently referred to T. T. V. Dhinakaran who is contesting as an independent on “pressure cooker” symbol and the DMK (which has fielded Marudhu Ganesh) awaiting the court verdict in 2G scam case.

Later speaking to reporters Dr. Tamilisai alleged that voters of R. K. Nagar were being taken out of the constituency and offered money by the Dravidian parties. Refuting an allegation that the BJP was criticising T. T. V. Dhinakaran, as it was apprehensive of poll defeat, Dr. Tamilisai said “it is a big joke.”

Meanwhile, a large number of DMDK members from Thanjavur on Wednesday joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister of State for Finance and Shipping Pon Radhakrishnan.
