VIJAYAWADA: AP minister for water resources Mr D. Umamaheswara Rao objected to YSR Congress celebrating the win of TRS in Telangana Assembly elections and alleged that YSRC and BJP had mingled with TRS hence YSRC cadres were celebrating the TRS win.

He claimed that Telangana Chief Minister Mr K. Chandrasekhar Rao had severely insulted YSRC and other political parties and Andhra people in the Polavaram project but still YSRC blindly supported TRS without any shame which is severely objectionable.

Addressing a press meet at Vijayawada on Friday Mr Umamaheswara Rao announced that they were ready to receive the “return gift” of K. Chandrasekhar Rao and claimed that TD never flinched from the political battlefield.

He alleged that retired officials like Mr Ajeya Kallam, Mr I.Y.R. Krishna Rao and others were trying to mislead the public by levelling baseless and false allegations against TD which was severely objectionable. He suggested retired officials should join YSRC to support YSRC president and opposition leader Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Mr Rao claimed that TD government had worked for the linking of Vamsadhara and Nagavali rivers and the supplying of 260 tmc ft of water to Visakhapatnam through Purushottampatnam project. He alleged that Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy was touring in Srikakulam district but was not interested in knowing the facts about the development of irrigation projects. He termed the walkathon of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy as morning and evening walks and opined the YSRC walkathon was of no use.

Mr Umamaheswara Rao claimed that the anti BJP wave was spreading in the country hence BJP had lost power in the northern States and said that BJP would lose power in the Centre in the coming elections.

MLC Mr A.S. Ramakrishna and MLC Mr B. Ravichandra also addressed the press meet.

In a related developmen addressing a press meet in the AP State Congress office Andhra Ratna Bhavan at Vijayawada on Friday Mr Thualsi Reddy said that K. Chandrasekhar Rao and other TRS leaders termed late Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy as water thief and had abused him numerous times. K. Chandrasekhar Rao had even said “Telangana Jago-Seemandhra Bhago” directing Andhra people to leave Telangana. And yet, he said that YSRC had distributed sweets and burst crackers at TRS’s win without any shame and demanded an explanation from YSRC about the cause behind the celebration of TRS win.
