KCR has killed spirit of TS movement: Jeevan Reddy
MLC Jeevan Reddy criticizes KCR's governance, praises Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's swift actions.
Karimnagar: MLC and Congress senior leader T. Jeevan Reddy alleged that K. Chandrashekar Rao who worked as the first chief minister of Telangana for two terms, not only killed the true spirit of the statehood movement after coming to power but also the dreams and aspirations of people of the state with his dictatorship ruling.
Speaking to the media in Karimnagar on Thursday, he said that in quite a contrast, A. Revanth Reddy, just days after taking oath as Chief Minister, had taken decisions on the continuation of the Aarogyasri Scheme and given much importance to the education and health sectors apart from fulfilling the promise of free RTC bus travel for women.
Stating that he wrote a letter to the CM seeking the removal of belt shops, the MLC appreciated Revanth Reddy for taking the decision immediately to remove such illegal liquor shops which are prevalent in every village in the state.
He alleged that the excise department had become the main revenue generator for the BRS government, which made the people liquor addicts with its liquor policy.
The Chief Minister’s announcement of a white paper on state finances sent shockwaves through the BRS rank and file. The Dalit Bandhu scheme was just a BRS government’s ploy for the Huzurabad bypoll and not for the welfare of the Dalit community, he alleged, claiming that all sections of the people including SCs, STs and Muslims voted the Congress to power by understanding that it was the Congress which formed Telangana state.
Terming the merger as a foolish move, the MLC promised to remerge the Husnabad constituency into the Karimnagar district from the Siddipet district.
Being vexed by the KCR’s autocracy, the people taught him a fitting lesson by dethroning him. The BRS is finished in Telangana. The coming Parliament elections battle will be between the Congress and BJP only, he added.
