SNDP Yogam's annual meet stayed
Meanwhile, an appeal filed by Mr. Natesan questioning this order was rejected by both the Kollam district court and the Kerala High Court.
KOLLAM: The Kollam munsiff court has stayed the SNDP Yogam’s 113th annual public meeting and bylaw amendment based on a petition filed by the SNDP Yogam protection council.
The council has alleged that the move for bylaw amendment is to make Mr Vellappally Natesan the life-long general secretary of the yogam. Meanwhile, an appeal filed by Mr. Natesan questioning this order was rejected by both the Kollam district court and the Kerala High Court.
“The annual public meeting was fixed without electing annual representatives from the 6,614 branches of the yogam which is mandatory in bylaw 44. The majority of branches and over 22 unions are under administrative rule. Most of the administrative officers appointed by the general secretary are accused of money swindling cases,” alleged Mr Kadakampally Manoj, the petitioner.
The meeting is being organised at Cherthala for the last several terms, which is an attempt to make it a permanent venue, he alleged. The annual public meeting, according to company law, should be held at the area having the registered office of the organisation.
The petition said that for the bylaw amendment of the yogam that has been registered under the non-trading company Act, a prior approval from the company registrar should be secured. This has not been followed in the case of the yogam.
