Congress destroys Congress, says Priya Dutt

Mumbai: Congress leader and former MP Priya Dutt has openly expressed displeasure about the grand old party’s recent condition, saying it suffers from an “autoimmune disease”. She also said that the party needs “treatment” to reinvent itself and become healthy again.

Her criticism comes in the wake of the 132-year-old party’s abysmal performance in Uttar Pradesh and loss in Goa and Manipur to the BJP despite it emerging in these states as the single largest party.  

“The Congress has repeatedly shown that it suffers from an autoimmune disease. Congress destroys Congress. We need to be treated from within to be healthy again,” Ms Dutt said in the tweet, which went viral on social media. There was a lot of speculation as to whom Ms Dutt was targeting through the tweet from the party high command to top leaders.  The party has not made any official comment on Ms Dutt’s tweet.
