Thiruvananthapuram: The CPI has always stood for strengthening the Left front, according to state secretary Kanam Rajendran. “The CPI is not continuing in the front taking into consideration how someone looks. All should be prepared to face criticism with tolerance. We don’t believe that whatever we do is always right,” he said.

Responding to CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s statement on bilateral talks, he said his  party would continue to take a firm stand against any deviation from the Left policies.  The CPI had cautioned the government against taking decisions that could be used against the LDF, he said.

“We have always maintained that the government and all constituents should be careful while taking decisions on various issues. Any deviation from the well- stated policies of the Left could be easily exploited by the Opposition,” he said.’

Mr Kanam had  told reporters on Thursday  that on examining each issue it would be clear that the CPI had taken the Left position and not that of the Opposition UDF.
