Bengaluru: Launching an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his relationship with businessman Gautam Adani, Congress leader and disqualified Member of Parliament Rahul Gandhi on Sunday stated that he will not bow under pressure over his disqualification and continue to seek answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his relationship with businessman Gautam Adani. To whom does about Rs 20,000 crore investments in the ‘benami’ companies of Adani belong to, Rahul questioned PM.

Addressing ‘Jai Bharata Satyagraha Yatre’ in Kolar of Karnataka, Rahul Gandhi stated Adani is into the defense infrastructure of the country as well having a Chinese director with him and said that “No investigation has gone into it.” He questioned “How can a Chinese be in the defense infrastructure?”.

Continuing his attack on Modi and Adani’s relationship. Rahul said that “In 21st century, one person has taken control over whole infrastructure facilities such as ports in the country” and wondered that “By way of magic, crores of rupees get into the companies owned by Adani.”

The Congress leader stated businessman Gautham Adani gets contractors (infrastructure) even in foreign countries after Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes a visit such as in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Israel and others.

After disqualification from Parliament, Rahul asked Modi to “Put him in jail and that his stance does not change” and alleged that businessman Gautam Adani “as a symbol of corruption.” “Will not fear disqualification and I repeat what’s your relationship with Adani", Rahul asked Modi.

Rahul said that the moment he raised questions to Modi on the floor of the Parliament over his relationship with Gautham Adani, he was ‘disqualified’ as a Lok Sabha member and termed that his disqualification was made out of fear that he would raise Modi’s relationship with Adani.

“I displayed a photograph of Modi on the floor of the Parliament relaxing in an aircraft belonging to Adani and in the picture Modi was relaxing just like he would do at his house,” Rahul said and asked Modi “What’s your relationship with Adani?”

Rahul said trouble for him started after the display of a picture of Modi in Adani’s aircraft and thereafter he was not allowed to speak on the floor of the Parliament.

“For the first time in the history of the country that ruling party members stalled the Parliament and it is usually opposition members who stall the Parliament over certain issues,” Rahul said.

Adding his efforts to speak on Modi-Adani relation, Rahul said he wrote letters to the Speaker twice and even met him in his office but was denied a chance to speak on the floor of the Parliament.

Rahul said he asked the Speaker who expressed his ‘inability’ to allow to Speak in the Parliament and after that came the ‘disqualification.’

President of All India Congress Committee Mallikajuna Kharge spoke.
