Hyderabad: A day after UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi wrote to all UPA allies and non-NDA parties for a meeting on May 23 — a move aimed at strengthening opposition unity and to checkmate the Narendra Modi-led NDA — both YSR Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samiti, sources on Wednesday said they have not received any invitation so far.

A senior YSRC leader said that the Congress has damaged the image of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy by implicating him in false cases and unless Mrs Gandhi clears this up how can he attend the meeting.

TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao is keen on forming a Federal Front of parties not aligned to either of the main national parties and so he may not want to commit himself at this stage by attending the meeting. Both leaders are waiting for a clear picture to emerge at the national level after the Lok Sabha results.
