Give us defence land for 6-lane road: K Chandrasekhar Rao

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Friday. During the one-hour meeting, the Chief Minister submitted a long wish list to Mr Modi.
On the new zonal system, he said, “Against the backdrop of formation of the new state with 31 districts, there is a need to issue a fresh Presidential Order adj-usting zones, multi-zo-nes and state cadre etc., under section 371-D of the Constitution. I request that suitable direction may kindly be issued to the ministry of home affairs to amend the Presidential Order early.”
On the High Court issue Mr Rao said, “After six decades of struggle, a new state of Telangana has been formed. However, this dream remains unfulfilled as Telan-gana State does not have its own separate High Court. I take this opportunity to request you to ensure that a separate High Court for Telangana is established at the earliest.”
On railway projects, the CM submitted: “Railway network in TS is below the national average. The land acquisiti-on for Manoharabad-Kottapalli project is taken up. Akkannapet-Medak line land acquisition is almost complete. The Bhadrachalam-Sattu-palli railway project sh-ould be expedited. The Kazipet-Vijayawada third line of electrificat-ion, Raghavapuram-Ma-ndamarri patch tripl-ing, Armoor-Nirmal-Adilabad new broad-ga-uge line should be expedited. Doubling of track in Secunderabad-Mahb-ubnagar, Secunderabad-Zaheerabad, laying of new railway line connecting Kazipet and Karimnagar be completed early”.
On Bison Polo Grou-nds, the CM said, “TS government has reques-ted the Ministry of Def-ence for transfer of de-fence lands (Bison Polo and Gymkhana grou-nds) in Secunderabad for construction of new Secretariat building, St-rategic Road Develop-ment Projects (NH 44 and SH 1) and also tr-ansfer of 7.58 acres de-fence land for construction of six lane alternative road proposed in lieu of Gough Road. Ministry of Defence has conveyed in principle approval for transfer of the defence lands subject to the fulfilment of certain conditions for which the state government has agreed. I requ-est you to kindly instr-uct the Ministry of Def-ence to expedite the proposal of transfer of def-ence lands to enable the TS government to take up construction of new Secretariat building and also widen and improve roads passing through Cantonment Areas.”
Referring to ITIR project, he said, "State government had submitted DPR delineating land parcels to be covered under ITIR and identifying trunk infrastructure projects related to the land parcels.
Some anchor companies have already started setting up industries. However, to my dismay, I read news reports that the Centre has dropped the ITIR. If Centre does not implement the ITIR after launching it five years ago, it will dent the credibility of the Centre. I request Centre to provide adequate funds to the state to develop ITIR".
