The District Congress Committee conducted a preparatory meeting for the AICC secretary's visit on Friday.
NIZAMABAD: Opposition Congress is planning to revamp the party in Telangana state, especially in north Telangana districts. To regain its previous glory, the Congress party is taking utmost care in strengthening its base. Party mandal and booth committees will be strengthened for the coming elections.
In this context, AICC secretary, Sreenivasan Krishnan, will attend the undivided Nizamabad district party workers meeting on July 16 in Nizamabad. Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammad Ali Shabbir, AICC secretary and former MP Madhu Goud Yashki, former Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy and former minister P. Sudarshan Reddy will attend the meeting.
The District Congress Committee conducted a preparatory meeting for the AICC secretary’s visit on Friday. Party office bearers, former MPs and MLAs will participate in the meeting. Mr Krishnan, a former bureaucrat, has preferred a low key approach to party meetings in other districts. Reportedly, he disliked setting up of flex boards and taking selfies.
Mr Krishnan is party in-charge for Adilabad, Peddapally, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Zaheerabad and Warangal parliamentary constituencies, which cover 40 assembly constituencies.
When contacted, the DCC president Taher Bin Hamdan said, “We are hopeful that Mr Krishnan’s guidance will boost the morale of the party cadre” he said.
