AP CPI slams BJP for failing to fulfil promises
Dr Narayana alleged that the BJP government of totally failed to restrain black money.
GUNTUR: CPI national secretary K. Narayana on Friday said that he feared that the country was on the brink of an abyss due to fanatic fundamentalist Hindutva agenda of BJP-led NDA government.
Asserting on the need for unity among Communists, democratic and secular forces to fight “the fascist policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Dr Narayana inaugurated the month-long series of protests from September 15 to October 15 against the anti-people policies of state and Centre governments in Guntur on Friday.
Addressing the public meeting, Dr Narayana reminded the BJP promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh in the bank account of every citizen by bringing back black money stashed abroad but it failed to deposit even 15 paisa.
He alleged that growth had plumetted to 5.5 per cent in the three years of the NDA rule, but the BJP-led government scrapped loans worth Rs 13.50 lakh-crore of the corporate companies.
Dr Narayana alleged that the BJP government of totally failed to restrain black money, extremist activities; money flow in election and drug mafia through demonetisation. He lamented that demonetisation helped private banks rejuvenate and forced government sector banks towards closure and merger with other banks. Dr Narayana alleged that the GST under one country-one tax system did not help the common man as the prices have increased.
The CPI veteran objected the BJP and Sangh Parivar agenda of Ghar Wapsi and alleged that BJP under Hindutva agenda trying to change food habits of the people forcibly.
He felt there is no use with countrywide linking of the rivers as it would need huge lands, will increase pollution and tail-end states would be deprived of water.
Dr Narayana said that a majority of the scientists were against countrywide linking of rivers and this would help only corporate companies to do projects.
Dr Narayana said that AP’s new capital buildings, including the Secretariat, should be useful for public and not mere graphics of a movie like Baahubali.
CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna accused the BJP of ignoring all the promises made to residuary AP at the time of bifurcation. He lamented that the Vishakapantnam railway zone, Kadapa steel plant, special package to Uttarandhra and Rayalase-ema regions, capital construction were yet to be fulfilled.
