VISHAKAPATNAM: The 13 Telugu Desam MLAs suspended from the assembly on the second consecutive day of the monsoon session on Friday asserted that full responsibility for the future of Vizag Steel Plant lay with the YSRC government.

The MLAs told the media outside the assembly that the YSRC government did nothing to the state since its inception in 2019. “Forget about the Vizag plant, the YSRC demanded a steel plant in Kadapa, but not a single representation on these went to the Centre from the state government,” they said.

Nimmala Ramanaidu said the government has imposed huge taxes on the people and the state’s debt burden was increasing by the day. Electricity charges have been revised seven times and there was no subsidy to aqua farmers. The prices of essential goods have increased and taxes are imposed even on waste paper.

Another TD MLA Chinarajappa said while Chandrababu Naidu brought many industries to the state, Jagan Reddy is blinking and putting the state in serious trouble. Not a single industry came up even in the CM’s own district, he said.

Chief minister Jagan and finance minister Buggana Rajendranath repeatedly visited Delhi but could not raise the Reorganization Act issues and its pending benefits to the state before the central government, they said.
