Hyderabad: Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) member N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the party working committee meeting in Hyderabad and the Vijayabheri public meeting in Tukkuguda on September 16 and 17 would be the starting point for its return to power at the Centre and in Telangana.

He was addressing a series of meetings in Kodad, Huzurnagar and other places in his Nalgonda parliamentary constituency on Friday to mobilize crowds for the Vijayabheri meeting. He said the first-ever CWC meeting date coincides with the 75th anniversary of the merger of the Hyderabad State with the Indian Union.

“Sonia granted statehood to Telangana despite knowing that the Congress party would suffer reverses in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. However, Sonia Gandhi never regretted deciding statehood for Telangana, as she fulfilled the 60-year-old dream of the people of Telangana," he said.
