For the third consecutive day of the winter session at Suvarna Soudha on Wednesday, attendance of  legislators was very less.

The government has provided accommodation to nearly 100 legislators at Hubballi.  Legislators complain  they have to travel a long distance to attend the session and their time is wasted in traffic for two hours. If they do not leave early for Hubballi, they may not get food, said sources.  If the government had provided them accommodation at Belagavi it would have helped them attend the session, said sources.

With hardly six months left for the 2018 Elections, the majority of MLAs are busy attending work in their  constituencies.  They are giving priority to  attending the inauguration of developmental works at their constituencies rather than attending the session, said sources.

However, a  few legislators have taken permission to abstain from the session. Mr Koliwad announced the names of four MLAs, who have taken permission.
