PV’s son likely to join TRS or BJP
Prabhakar Rao upset with Rahul Gandhi for ignoring former PM’s statue during BJY
HYDERABAD: In view of the latest political developments in the state, P.V. Prabhakar Rao, the youngest son of former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao is seriously weighing political options and considering joining either TRS or BJP in the coming days.
According to sources close to Rao, who heads PV Global Foundation, both TRS and BJP leaders remained in touch with the leader, who is seriously weighing options particularly after ‘Bharat Jodo yatra’ passed through Hyderabad.
Rao was upset after Rahul Gandhi passed through PVNR Marg on November 1 as part of the yatra and paid homage to Indira Gandhi, but skipped visiting Narasimha Rao’s statue. Even though Digvijay Singh and legislator D. Sridhar Babu met him at his residence after he expressed displeasure, he has made up his mind.
His family members are already in both the parties. Surabhi Vani Devi, his sister is an MLC from TRS and N.V Subhash, the BJP spokesperson is his nephew. “Since Prabhakar Rao has a good support base in New Delhi and K. Chandrashekar Rao has announced the BRS, if he gets a good offer TRS will be the best bet,” informed the source.
Prabhakar, an industrialist, remained actively involved and learnt the skills of chalking out strategies from his father.
“He remained disenchanted following the event at Necklace Road. In spite of top Congress leadership trying to pacify him, he is likely to make a move in the coming days,” added the source.
Following Munugode fallout some other Congress leaders, including a former MLA and a former minister, are reportedly joining other political parties in the coming days. One of the reasons is said to be growing mistrust amongst the Congress leaders within the party, which is giving a chance for other parties to lure them with offers like tickets in the next elections.
