KCR false claims exposed: Eatala Rajender
Hyderabad: BJP leader Etala Rajendar said the claim of his rival in Gajwel, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, of Telangana topping per capita consumption of electricity stood exposed with the publication of 2023 annual report by Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
Rajendar, MLA, BJP national executive member and TS state election management committee chief, said the report placed Telangana at the 10th spot.
The report said six states and three union territories are ahead of Telangana, Goa topping the list followed by Punjab and Odisha. The Union Yerritories of Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman Diu and Puducherry were ahead of Telangana.
It said the growth rate of electricity consumption was lower than in the combined state. Power supply in the state has increased due to the completion of various power projects in the country. Because of this there are no power supply problems or power cuts in more than 20 states of the country, the release said.
The CEA report said no new power projects had been completed in Telangana in the last nine and half years. It pointed out that the discoms (distribution companies) in the state were reeling under debt as the government had not paid its bills.
