Karimnagar: BRS working president and minister K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday cautioned people against believing the mesmerising words of Congress and BJP leaders, who, he said, were going to people only for seeking votes. He also likened Congress and BJP leaders to Sanskranti bulls, which come on to the road once in a year.

Addressed public meetings at Kathalpur, Rudrangi and Chandurthi mandals of the Vemulawada constituency, Rama Rao said the presence of huge number of women at BRS meetings make it evident that people’s blessings are with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and he will become the Chief Minister for the third time.

He accused the BJP of betraying a women leader Tula Uma by promising her Vemulawada ticket and later handing over the B-form to another leader.

“The BRS party which had introduced several welfare schemes keeping in view the welfare of the women is going to give a respectable position to Tula Uma in the coming days,” he assured.

Rama Rao said there are around 4.5 lakh women who are dependent on the preparation of beedis in Vemulawada, Sircilla, Korutla and Jagtial constituencies. “Previous governments never bothered about them but the BRS is the only government in the country which is sanctioning a Rs.2000 pension to them,” he said.

Despite losing two years and bearing the loss of Rs 1 lakh crore due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the minister said the development in the state continued under the leadership of Chandrashekhar Rao.

He rubbished the statement of TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy that a three-hour power supply was sufficient for the farmers in Telangana to irrigate if they could run a 10 HP motor pump set.

The Congress is bringing leaders like D.K. Shivakumar, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi while the BJP is bringing leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, home minister Amit Shah and over 15 chief ministers of different states to fight against Chandrashekhar Rao.

“That is why I say that this election is a fight between Delhi Doras and the people of Telangana”, he said.
