Mynampally Should Be Disqualified: BJYM

HYDERABAD: P.M. Sai Prasad, BJYM national treasurer and founding member of Team SAI, has lodged a complaint with Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Rao seeking disqualification of Mynampally Hanumanth Rao,  MLA and Congress candidate from Malkajgiri for allegedly failing to disclose certain information in his election affidavit.

Prasad said Hanumanth Rao had failed to disclose Criminal case FIR No. 251/2023 in Alwal police station and property at Door No. 1-11-55/1 bearing PTI No: 1160105253. Another case under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act filed against him at the Alwal police station was not disclosed, Prasad added.

On educational qualifications, the MLA’s latest affidavit said it was nil but he had in 2018 and 2017 he had claimed Intermediate and in 2008, 2009 and 2014 BBA from Alabama University, USA. Hanumanth Rao also did not mention that his spouse Mynampally Vani was director in two companies (Arvind Recon India Pvt Ltd and Sri Shiva Shakti Realtors LLP), Prasad alleged.

Later, addressing the media, he said, “The failure to disclose this information will attract disqualification under Section 125 A of the Representation of People’s Act 1951. The Election Commission has made it clear that it shall launch criminal prosecution against candidates who have submitted false information and concealing information in affidavits while submitting nominations.”
