He has decided to convene an emergency meeting of party leaders from state-level to district-level on Friday at the Telangana Bhavan
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday returned to Hyderabad after a three-day visit to Chennai. Soon after his return, the Chief Minister announced a busy schedule to engage in government programmes and party activities across the state till December 20. The schedule for Chief Minister's tour to Atchampet Assembly constituency, Nizamabad district, Jagtial distirct, Yadadri Bhongir district and Vikarabad district will be finalised soon where he will inaugurate new integrated collectorate complexes and launch several development programmes.
Rao's sudden decision to conduct an extended party meeting on Friday at such a short notice has raised political heat in the TRS circles. The meeting assumes significance against the backdrop of the TRS government completing three years in office in its second term on December 12.
Party sources said the TRS boss was expected to chalk out the next phase of agitation programmes across the state to step up pressure on the Centre to procure paddy from Telangana in rabi. The TRS has already held two major agitation programmes against the Centre on paddy procurement issue in November. All ministers, party MLAs and MLCs staged demonstrations in all the Assembly constituencies across the state to press their demand on November 12.
The Chief Minister himself sat on a dharna on November 18 at Indira Park along with his entire Cabinet ministers, MLAs, MLCs and MPs demanding the Centre procure paddy from Telangana in rabi.
As the MLC poll code in the state which came into force on November 9 ended with MLC results on Tuesday, the Chief Minister has decided to keep the government administration and party activities on fast track mode. There have been no major administrative activities for the past one month due to election code of conduct.
These apart, the Chief Minister is also expected to give a roadmap to party leaders on how to deal with opposition parties in the remaining two year tenure of the TRS government and retain power for the third term in 2023 Assembly polls.
