Thrissur: BJP state president Kummanam Rajasekharan said that CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan be slapped with charges of treason for his pro-China statements. Mr Rajasekharan was speaking as part of Vikas Yatra to create awareness about union government's development projects here on Tuesday.

Mr Kummanam pointed out that the CPM secretary's praise of Chinese policies are condemnable when Indian soldiers put up strong defense against China's bid to dominate border areas like Dokalam. The CPM state secretary was supporting the Chinese policies when reports were out last month that during the Tiananmen Square massacre of students in China in 1989, nearly 10,000 students were killed by Chinese army, he noted.
