Rajini's ideology matches that of BJP, says Tamilisai Soundararajan
She however said that she could not comment anything at this juncture about forging an electoral alliance with the political party of the superstar.
Chennai: 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's keenness for ensuring corruption free governance and spiritual politics, matches with that of the BJP's ideology, claimed BJP state president Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan.
She however said that she could not comment anything at this juncture about forging an electoral alliance with the political party of the superstar. Speaking to reporters at Pudukottai she said, "it is (auditor) Gurumurthy's wish that BJP and Rajini should work together. He has registered his opinion (at the anniversary event of Thuglak magazine) as a journalist and political commentator."
"As far as I am concerned, we are firm on our stand that the two Kazhagams (ruling AIADMK and opposition DMK) should not rule Tamil Nadu. We are facing polls without electoral tie-up with these parties," Dr Tamilisai said and added that the challenge before her party is to strengthen it at grass root level. "We are currently focussed on that," she added.
On the withdrawal of the Haj subsidy to the pilgrims, she said this was not the decision of the BJP. The decision to withdraw the subsidy was made following the Supreme Court verdict in 2012.
Union minority minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday had announced that there would be no subsidy for Haj from this year.
Party's MP, L. Ganesan claimed the withdrawal should not cause any apprehension among the Muslims as the Centre has made arrangement to facilitate the travel through sea route.
Meanwhile, TNCC chief Su. Thirunavukkarasar has announced protests at all district headquarters on January 18 condemning the Centre's decision to withdraw the Haj subsidy.
