Hyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Tuesday urged to order a probe into corruption in the execution of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme (KLIS), and Mission Bhagiratha.

Former MP, and BJP core committee member G. Vivek Venkatswamy, speaking during the BJP’s national executive meeting in New Delhi, said, “Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao looted thousands of crores of Rupees in the project execution and this is a fit case for an inquiry.”

Vivek also said that the Telangana government was not implementing the PM Awas Yojana and the Centre should directly identify beneficiaries and extend the scheme to them.

He also urged the Prime Minister to increase the Dalit Entrepreneurs Venture Capital Funds from Rs 5,200 crore to Rs 20,000 crore, and increase the limit under Ayushman Bharat from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh a year.

The Centre’s proactive steps on controlling prices on petrol and diesel had led to their reduction in the rest of the country but the Telangana government had not passed on the benefits to the consumers by not reducing the state levies, Vivek told the meeting.

Modi on Monday had said BJP units should discuss how the Centre was giving funds to the states and this is what we will do in Telangana, Vivek said.
