Bandi demands dismissal of KTR for TSPSC scam

HYDERABAD: BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao dismiss K.T. Rama Rao from the state cabinet in connection with the leak of the assistant engineer exam paper conducted by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).

All the systems in the commission are handled by the IT department, which comes under Rama Rao's ministry, he said.

To the BRS allegation that one of the accused in the paper leak, A. Raja Sekhar, was a BJP leader, Sanjay wondered how he survived in a government job since 2017, if it were true. On the contrary, accused No. 1 Praveen Kumar was affiliated with the BRS, he said, adding that the ruling party was trying to divert attention from this. He said the government had formed the SIT to scuttle the probe.

Meanwhile, Sanjay along with party leaders G. Premender Reddy, Dugyala Pradeep Kumar, N.V.S.S. Prabhakar and S. Kumar visited Chanchalguda jail on Thursday, where BJYM leaders have been detained for protesting against the paper leak at the TSPSC office.

The BJP ‘task force’ on the TSPSC paper leak met under Sanjay’s chairmanship and concluded that the leak was not possible without its chairman Janardhan Reddy's knowledge.

Saying that there were doubts that even the Group I recruitment exam question paper was leaked, it resolved that they will meet the Governor to submit a representation demanding the sacking of Janardhan Reddy and ₹1 lakh compensation to those affected by the cancellation of the exam.

BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh condemned the arrest of BJYM leaders. He also condemned the lathi-charge on Osmania University students who wanted to take out a peaceful march.

“It is now clear that the KCR government wants to use the police to intimidate students and the youth,” Chugh said.

MLA Etala Rajendar demanded an inquiry by a judge. To cover up for the failure to conduct competitive exams, BRS leaders are trying to politicise the TSPSC issue, he alleged.
