C N Balakrishnan doesn't share CM's optimism
In the 2011 elections to Assembly, UDF had won six and LDF got 7.
Thrissur: There is no over confidence about the poll prospects of UDF in the Assembly polls, Corporation Minister C N Balakrishnan has said. “Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is quite confident about a UDF win in the state, but I can't speak on that lines,” he told reporters after casting his vote at Hari Sree Shool at Punkunnam on Monday.
Reacting to a questions by media persons, he said that he was not overconfident about the performance of UDF. “In the district, Congress had run an effective campaigning. I am sure that we will win at least six out of the 13 segments in the district,” he said. In the 2011 elections to Assembly, UDF had won six and LDF got 7.
The veteran congress leader CN who contested for the first time to Assembly in 2011, won from Wadakkanchery segment in Thrissur and became the minister. In 2016, he made way to young party leader Anil Akkara in his seating seat, where the party is confident of a victory this time as well.
