KS Eshwarappa dares Congress to name CM candidate
The CM should know that the courts have absolved Yeddyurappa of all charges.
Raichur: Opposition leader in the Council K.S. Eshwarappa has slammed the Congress government in the state saying they were not content with the looting they had indulged in and now wanted to extend it to Pathala Gange, a project to draw water from 5,000 metres below the earth to meet the drinking water requirements of several arid areas of the state.
Speaking to the media after a review meeting here, Eshwarappa said, “When we point out corrupt practices, the Chief Minister comes out with the statement that Yeddyurappa went to jail in a corruption case. The CM should know that the courts have absolved Yeddyurappa of all charges. The proposed Paatala Gange project is nothing but an attempt to loot public money and will not serve any public purpose,” he stated.
The BJP leader who has been under fire over the Sangolli Rayanna Brigade issue, tried to turn the tables on the Congress claiming that groupism in that party which was dormant so far, was coming to the fore now. “Our party is clear that Yeddyurappa will be our next CM. Let the Congress clarify who will be their next CM,” he challenged.
Declaring that the Brigade’s activities would proceed as planned earlier, Eshwarappa asserted he would not sever his ties with BJP even if he gets a threat that he would be beheaded. Asked if his tour of drought-hit places on his own was an indication of his differences with Yeddyurappa, Eshwarappa replied in the negative.
