Ready to prove charges against government, says BJP leader Jagadish Shettar
Shettar said Congress leaders who are denying the charges, have not replied to the specific statistics provided in the charge-sheet.
Hubballi: Opposition leader in the Assembly Jagadish Shettar said the BJP is ready to prove each and every charge made against the state government in its recent charge-sheet as statistics provided in the booklet have been collected from government departments.
Addressing reporters here on Tuesday, Shettar said Congress leaders who are denying the charges, have not replied to the specific statistics provided in the charge-sheet.
Giving an example of the irrigation department, he said the state government had announced that it will provide Rs 10,000 crore every year for the Upper Krishna Project (UKP).
But it has allotted Rs 44,000 crore for the entire irrigation sector of which only Rs 32,000 crore has been spent in the last four years, he said.
The UKP has received only Rs 13,000 crore during this period, he added. “Karnataka is one of the top two states in the country when it comes to communal riots. The crime rate in the state has increased and more than 1.25 lakh FIRs were registered in Bengaluru city alone in the last four years. An NGO has pointed out that 77 per cent of people in Karnataka feel that no government work will be completed without paying a bribe,” he charged.
